A Pelican Brief

A couple of days a go we had a slightly less usual visitor to the waters of The Liesbeek. A Great White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) graced the river with its presence. Read more for a picture.


A wonderful bird is the pelican,
His bill will hold more than his belican,
He can take in his beak
Enough food for a week
But I’m darned if I know how the helican!
